Great new additions to predict protein tool

Ramaswamy Narayanan il y a 12 ans mis à jour par mohammad il y a 9 ans 1

The new predict protein tool is making a huge difference to my research on uncharacterized proteins. Thanks for making this available. My students love it. Thanks team members. Cheers,

protein structure

That is the great one for alignments, prediction of structure, binding sites and the percentage of the amino acid composition of the protein. if it can predict the physico-chemical properties it could be the top one for structure prediction of the proteins.

multiple substitutions

rabuodeh il y a 3 ans mis à jour par webmaster il y a 3 ans 1

Great tool! Is there a way to perform multiple substitutions on the same input sequence? And where is the output sequence raw text once the prediction was made? Thanks!

NOT returning a prediction for the peptide you sent. it seems that the system encountered an error.

Thanks for your feedback.

We are aware of the situation and waiting for our upstream sequence-alignment provider to repair the issue.

PredictProtein first runs an alignment on the submitted sequence, before any of the subsequent methods are run.

Until the upstream provider has repaired their systems, we'll have to be patient and wait.

In the meantime, any already-computed sequence result sets are available from our local database. The current issue only involves sequences for which we have no results. After they are computed, the results are stored in our database.

open predict protein does not seem to be working

Richard Friedman il y a 5 ans mis à jour par webmaster il y a 5 ans 1

Dear Burkhard,

I hope that  you and your family are well in the corona virus crisis. My students have been trying to use open predict protein and the screen goes blank and stays blank after 20 minutes. Is the service still available? If so, how long should they wait.

Thanks and best wishes,

Rich

Hi Rich,

This is Burkhard's administrator writing - As far as I know, everyone is still alright, although life has changed a bit due to the crisis. I'm happy to see your students are using the website! It appears some-one/-thing overloaded the webserver, which caused it to run out of resources. The blank screen was a result of a timeout being reached on the server side. The service is back up again, and available for your students to use. Please have some patience waiting for results to load, as the server is somewhat busy these days.

Cheers,

Tim

how long the result come after submitting

The time needed for submission results depends on several factors. In general, results will be provided immediately if they are already in our database. Otherwise, your sequence submission is put in a cluster queue, with results being computed once resources on our cluster are available. Computation can take anywhere between a minimum of 40 minutes to several hours; usually depending on the length of the submitted sequence and information discovered leading to additional processing.

Prediction Names

Could the Prediction name tag be edited or replaced for the first line (name and stuff) of a FASTA sequence? It would make identifying sequences much easier than the random character tag
